    Description

A Research Trial Manager is needed for a contract crop research and management company based in central Illinois.  This company has established a successful niche in the chemistry and nitrogen management segments of the agronomy industry.

This role is operationally focused. You will be planting small plots with a precision planter and conducting research by following protocols and applying a variety of products at different rates.  Once the crop is up and growing, you will make observations using a drone and enter the data in an excel document utilizing ARM software.

In addition, you will be face-to-face with clients conducting plot tours and explaining research findings.  During harvest, you will harvest the plots with a research combine. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys implementing new technologies in the field while operating farm equipment in a small plot environment.

There will be some management of interns and other staff.  During the winter, you will be entering data and communicating with the clients, or you may be in the shop updating, repairing, designing, or purchasing equipment.  There may also be some travel to other locations.

Excellent communication skills and a commitment to detail are required in this career opportunity.  Previous experience operating farm machinery in the field is desired.  You will need to obtain a Class A CDL and a private applicator's license, and you will need experience with MS Excel and ARM software (Agricultural Research Management).  The company is open on your level of education.

Your compensation will be based upon the value you bring to the role.  You can expect to earn a salary of $60,000 to $90,000 per year with commissions based upon overall company performance.  The company has a 401k and a benefit reimbursement program.

This is a well managed company where you will enjoy flexible hours with minimal Saturdays and no Sunday work.  This position is immediately available.   Are you qualified and love "farming" and being on the cutting edge of agronomy?  Contact Jim Fleming today.
